The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A true symbol of Alsatian excellence, Albert Mann stands among the region’s most esteemed estates, producing biodynamic wines of remarkable precision and finesse.

Led by Jacky Barthelmé and now his son Antoine, who has taken the reins with quiet confidence, the domaine masters both white and red vinification. Here, Alsace’s greatest terroirs are reimagined with a vibrant, emotional clarity—yielding wines of unmistakable identity, balance, and depth. They are pure, digestible, and profoundly expressive—true benchmarks for wine lovers everywhere.

A crowning achievement: Albert Mann recently received Alsace’s first-ever 100-point score from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate for one of its Pinot Noirs—and the rest of the lineup is just as compelling.

With a prestigious 3-star rating from France’s Revue du Vin de France wine guide (RVF, one of the country’s most respected wine publications), Albert Mann unquestionably ranks among the greats.
Wine A rare gem from the estate, the 2023 Alsace Pinot Noir Clos de la Faille Red rivals Burgundy’s finest benchmarks. Grown on a monopole parcel planted in 1998, set on pink sandstone and limestone gravel soils, this Pinot comes from a site exclusively owned by the Barthelmé family. Crafted with 15% whole bunches in a gentle, infusion-style fermentation, and matured in barrels with minimal new oak, it delivers a beautifully pure expression of the grape. Ripe fruit lends depth to aromas of fresh berries, stewed cherry, and floral notes. The palate is powerful yet refined, with remarkable texture, complexity, and energy. Fine tannins frame this high-precision wine, giving it structure and longevity. A perfect match for filet of beef or veal chop. A Selection Committee favorite—rated 95/100.
Vinification Hand harvested in 20 kg crates. Vinification according to the infusion principle. Natural fermentation. Aged for 17 months in new barrels and barrels that have been used once or twice.
