Nestled in the finest terroirs of Château-Chalon, Domaine Berthet-Bondet stands as a formidable name in the Jura region. This family estate, now helmed by Hélène, produces wines that are among the area's most notable, including premier oxidative wines - notably a magnificent tradition of Château-Chalon's yellow wines - and equally delightful topped-up wines.
Recognized with a star in the Guide RVF and certified organic, the domain consistently delivers wines that rank at the pinnacle of the region.
Regarded by Curnonsky as one of the world's greatest gastronomic white wines, Château-Chalon epitomizes the delicate alchemy of yellow wine. Aged for six years and three months under a protective veil, Domaine Berthet-Bondet offers a purist's rendition, thanks to its stunning old vaulted cellars which uniquely facilitate the wines' slow maturation and the formation of the veil. |

Absolutely sumptuous, the 2016 white Château-Chalon demonstrates a remarkable depth, navigating a complex array of spices, underbrush, curry, and green walnut. There's an almost peaty sensation, with a salty and incredibly fresh aspect, hints of walnut husk and turmeric. The structure harmonizes power and freshness, tension and voluptuousness; this grand wine beautifully embodies a strong mineral tension driven by limestone, and a vibrant energy throughout.
