The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Owned by the Garcin-Cathiard family, Château Haut-Bergey has undergone a transformation since the 2018 vintage and has now been producing organic and biodynamic wines. The 43 hectares of vines allow for a delicate selection of the most perfect grapes. The estate is now competing in terms of quality with the classified growths of Pessac-Léognan and is gaining ground! This pilot property has adopted ambitious and rigorous means of production, crafting well-built and balanced red wines, endowed with great elegance.
Wine The 2007 red Pessac-Léognan Château Haut-Bergey has stood the test of time ! Its color is still brilliant, barely tiled, and still looks young after fifteen years of evolution. The nose is of great finess, elegance and purity, with noble aromas of fruit. Silky, mature, this almost twenty year old Graves has retained all its charm and fine tannins.
Vinification Hand harvested. Vinification by plot in small thermo-regulated vats. Aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new.
