The estate and the wine |

Awarded 1 star by the RVF Guide, Domaine des Escaravailles is perched on the cooler terrains at the heights of the Rasteau appellation. The Ferran family has been dedicated to working these lands for 70 years, producing dry wines with succulent fruit, superb texture, and some outstanding natural sweet wines. |

The 2020 red Rasteau La Ponce displays excellent craftsmanship, southern in its expression yet without the excesses often associated with the region. Aromas of menthol, eucalyptus, wild herbs, and tapenade intertwine with a rich tapestry of black fruits and spices. The structure is full and fleshy, concentrated with sturdy tannins that refocus the mid-palate, complemented by a fine overall delicacy. This magnificent wine is well-suited for aging and can be enjoyed over the next 15 to 20 years without any issue. A favorite of the Selection Committee, it has been rated 93/100. |
