The tasting |
Clear, bright, sustained golden yellow colour. |
| |
Subtle and unctuous on the nose, aromas of verbena, white-fleshed fruit, spices and sliced mushrooms. |
| |
Full on the palate, fairly fat but perfectly well balanced by the acidity. Very distinguished, it will get better and better with aging. |

The estate and the wine |
Louis Jadot has recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. Louis Henry Denis Jadot founded the House of Louis Jadot in 1859. His son, Louis Jean Baptiste succeeded him in 1900 and continued to develop the business by purchasing numerous vineyards, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles. This Wine House's estates today cover 154 hectares in the Côte d'Or and the Maconnais and Beaujolais areas. Louis Jadot has long enjoyed an international reputation, a true reference. |

The Montrachet is quite simply the greatest white wine on the planet. It is the most distinguished and the most powerful expression of the noble Chardonnay grape. Its aura is such that the wine is personified. We talk about « Montrachet, himself». And « He » knows no equivalent. This is the one, single, pinnacle of the white wine world. There are only 8 hectares of Montrachet shared between very few owners. The wine that we are offering you today, is an absolute treasure bearing the signature of Louis Jadot, one of the greatest Beaune Wine Houses. |
