The estate and the wine |
Propelled by a first-rate terroir, the Domaine Labruyère reigns supreme over the finest plots in Moulin-à-Vent. Supervised by Nadine Gublin, the oenologist at the eminent Burgundy house Jacques Prieur - a prestigious signature crowned with the highest marks from critics - the wines reach heights of mastery and plenitude, particularly edifying in this fine 2016 vintage. |

Buoyed by a radiant, very open vintage today, the 2016 red Moulin-à-Vent Hommage shows minimal evolution. The nose is still fresh, typical of a ripe Gamay, accompanied by appropriate aging, and releasing notes of pit fruit: a profile that, blind, could confuse between Beaujolais and beautiful Burgundy sectors! The palate is lightly pinot, with good concentration and a fleshy, velvety core well served by aging. A wine ready to drink or age. Rated 92/100 by the Committee. |

Hand harvested, totally destemmed, alcoholic fermentation in concrete vats, aged 14 months in oak barrels and demi-muids, then 6 months in concrete vats. |
