The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Keep an eye on Domaine Mayard! Making a dramatic entrance into our top selections, it stands shoulder to shoulder with the best in the Rhône. Since Arthur and Hugo took the helm in 2021, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate has made an impressive start, marked by flair and finesse.

In only their second year, they've already snagged a star in the RVF guide. It wouldn't be surprising to see them quickly rise through the ranks, and it's easy to see why: these young winemakers bring a fresh interpretation to the region's wines. Their approach, influenced by the diverse geology of pebbles and sand, results in elegant cuvées with an exceptionally graceful touch.
Wine Exquisitely fine, the 2021 red Châteauneuf-du-Pape is utterly irresistible! Who would expect such grace from the southern Mediterranean? Whole cluster harvesting and concrete vat fermentation preserve the purity of the fruit, which unfolds unrestrainedly with notes of red fruits, sugared strawberries, and a floral accent, particularly of peony and rose. The fine and elegant structure fits perfectly with the delicacy of the vintage, avoiding over-extraction, maintaining a very fresh balance and excellent alcohol management. This great finesse in style delights us! A favorite of Olivier Poussier, rated 94/100.
Vinification Harvested by hand. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, vatted for 4 to 5 weeks. Aged in concrete vats, then bottled 18 months later.
