Blending Grenache and Syrah, the 2021 red Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pie VI displays a lightly extracted, very refined profile, with notes of stone fruits, spices, and dry herbs. The moderate, perfectly controlled aging allows the fruit to take center stage, within an infused framework, featuring a full and generous mid-palate, framed by fine and delicate tannins. The 2021 vintage is notably fresh, flavorful, and elegant, with a slender and athletic build. A superb cuvée to keep for at least 10 years. Rated 95-96/100 by RVF. |
