Palate Very fresh, with a delicious fruitiness, this wine has a deep, tight, concentrated and consistent palate, with beautiful long and persistent flavours of graphite and liquorice and peppery accents.

In Cornas—arguably the most understated appellation of Northern Rhône, perched on the granite ridges of the Ardèche—Chapoutier selects south- and east-facing granite plots at higher altitudes to preserve maximum freshness. Here, his powerful, meticulously vinified and aged Syrah wines, shaped by the hallmark “Chapoutier touch,” achieve a truly exquisite expression of northern Syrah at its finest.
Wine A blend of several lieux-dits, including the prized Saint-Pierre sector, the 2022 Red Cornas Temenos impresses with its generous fruity flavours and striking freshness. This is a superb Syrah, exuding aromas of violet and spices, supported by a dense, structured texture with depth and grip. The palate is profound and concentrated, revealing layers of graphite, black pepper, and licorice. A magnificent bottle built for aging, this wine will evolve beautifully over the next 10 to 15 years. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, completely destemmed. Traditional vinification, fermentation in concrete vats for 10 days. Long maceration for 4 to 5 weeks. Malolactic fermentation in barrels, 20% of which are new wood, and ageing for 16 to 18 months.
