The estate and the wine |

Always just a step behind its legendary sibling Château Haut-Brion, Château La Mission Haut-Brion stands apart with a more sensual, expressive style. While Haut-Brion may evolve with added complexity over time, La Mission’s immediate charm often earns it critical acclaim early on.
In the 2024 Red vintage, the estate's identity shines once again. This is a wine of satin-like texture, elegance, and finesse—built more on vitality than sheer power. Its structure is shaped by ripe, generous Merlot and élevage in two-thirds new oak barrels, giving it a rich, layered mouthfeel. The black fruit flavors are vivid and seamlessly integrated, offering both depth and clarity.
"I actually have a slight preference for La Mission over Haut-Brion this year, for the way it handles texture," says Olivier Poussier, Best Sommelier in the World.
A true collector’s wine, and for many, one of Bordeaux’s most treasured bottles. |
