The estate and the wine |
|
|
Nicolas Potel was one of Burgundy’s most respected figures. After the sale of his family estate, Domaine de la Pousse d’Or, he achieved the remarkable feat of raising Maison Bellene, both domaine and négociant, to the very highest level.
He believed in a viticulture that was demanding but never dogmatic, and he crafted wines of grace and depth, combining ripeness with elegance. His sudden passing was a shock to the wine world and to VALAP, where he was a close and loyal partner.
Today, his children Alphonse, Antonia and Émilien carry on his legacy with the same passion and discipline, guided by his spirit and high standards. The wines to come will continue to express the style and refinement that made Nicolas Potel’s signature unmistakable. |
