The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Driven by the energy of Guillaume Clusel, the Clusel-Roch estate is shaking up the hierarchy in the Rhône Valley. Regularly featured among the top wines in the region's appellations, whether it’s Côte Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, or Côtes-du-Rhône, the same meticulous care is applied across the board. With organic farming, precise winemaking, and attention to every detail, the estate continues to impress and make its mark.
Wine The 2020 La Viallière Côte Rôtie offers a precise expression of its terroir. Fresh and balanced, the wine carries subtle spices and delicate graphite notes from the soil, while the oak influence is understated, allowing the wine's natural character to shine. The palate is structured with silky tannins and poised for aging, making this a wine of energy and great promise.
Vinification Hand harvested. 0,7-hectare plot, mass-selected Syrah (vieilles serines d'Ampuis). Grapes partially destemmed, fermented for 3 to 4 weeks in temperature-controlled vats, 100% indigenous yeasts, with punching down and pumping over. Aged 24 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new. Production of around 3,000 bottles a year.
