The estate and the wine |
|
|
A hidden gem of Gigondas and Vacqueyras, Domaine du Terme is a charming estate managed by the Gaudin family for five generations. Tucked away at the "terminus" of the ancient Principality of Orange, to which Gigondas once belonged, the vineyard stretches across the plateau at an altitude of 200 meters.
The contiguous 11 hectares produce tender and balanced wines, modestly aged in tanks and large barrels in a traditional manner. No frills, just the terroir speaking and the fruit bursting forth! |

Benefiting from a cool vintage, the 2021 red Vacqueyras bears witness to the beautiful ripeness of the Grenache grape, releasing notes of red fruit, spices and maquis herbs. The wine's lovely substance, concentrated without excess, offers fresh, juicy fruit that's not too rich, but remains extremely well-balanced and measured. If the pleasure is immediate, this wine can be drunk quietly over 10 years, favoring autumn and winter recipes, such as meat in sauce or game. A real treat! Rated 92/100 by the Comité. |
