Wine:

The 2023 Montagny Premier Cru Les Maroques White is a masterclass in precision and charm. Focused on minerality, this refined wine delivers vibrant freshness and subtle depth, though it’s still holding back a little—a sign of great things to come with time. Aged without new oak, its discreet barrel influence lends a gentle structure without overshadowing the wine’s purity. A beautifully poised bottle with excellent aging potential.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Direct pressing of whole grapes, followed by light settling. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, fermentation and ageing in oak barrels (no new barrels), 100% malolactic fermentation. Bottled on 17 June 2024. Production: 3,177 bottles and 296 half-bottles.

Color:

Bright pale yellow.

Nose:

Floral notes mixed with toasted accents.

Palate:

Focused on minerality, this wine is seductive and delicate, with lovely freshness that is still reserved, which will evolve positively in the coming months.

Temperature:

Decant during its youth and serve between 10 and 12°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Carpaccio of John Dory with vanilla oil, risotto with langoustines, sea bass in olive oil, whole sea bream baked in the oven.

Cellar aging:

Starting today, until 2028, and longer for enthusiasts.

Highly sought after by top gastronomic restaurants, Domaine Stéphane Aladame is inseparable from the charming, refined face of Burgundy that continues to captivate seasoned wine lovers.

A shining ambassador for the Côte Chalonnaise and awarded one star by the Revue du Vin de France—a leading French wine publication—this exemplary winemaker raises the bar with every vintage, focusing his small-scale production on carefully selected distribution.

A true gem for those who value purity and authenticity, especially given that the pricing remains remarkably accessible for wines from such distinguished terroirs.
