The 2020 Grange des Pères Red, IGP Pays d’Hérault, is truly in a class of its own. Its unique blend—Syrah and Mourvèdre, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Counoise—creates an unmistakable aromatic signature. Macerated black fruits, wild herbs from the garrigue, and refined smoky and roasted notes from aging all come together with a delicate graphite edge. The palate is silky yet deep, velvety yet structured—an extraordinary expression of Mediterranean wine, where power meets finesse. This is a red of remarkable elegance, living up to its legendary reputation. A masterful creation, crafted with precision and artistry, that shines in both vintages.Vinification:

The different grape varieties are vinified separately in stainless steel vats, aged for 24 months in barrels, a third of which are new, then the different grape varieties are blended in vats a few months before bottling.Organic and biodynamic viticulture is practised in the vineyard without certification.

One of the most legendary estates in the Languedoc, Domaine de la Grange des Pères is among the most coveted and speculative wines in all of France. Since its first vintage in 1992, Laurent Vaillé, who sadly passed away in 2021, crafted an unparalleled and impressive legacy.
An instinctive and talented winemaker, mentored by Chave, Coche-Dury, and Eloi Dürrbach (of Trévallon), Vaillé shaped wines in his own image, inspired by the giants of the field and practicing a viticulture of patience and attentiveness.
Entirely dedicated to his vineyard and the wines from the high-altitude parcels of the Arboussas massif, Vaillé forged a unique style based on relentless hard work, precise aging, and an uncompromising pursuit of perfection.
Today, his wines age beautifully and have earned a place in the pantheon of French, and even global, viticulture. Highly sought-after and incredibly coveted, they are commanding unprecedented demand—especially since the estate does not host visitors and has nothing available for sale directly!
