Wine:

Hailing from a gravelly site in the western part of the appellation, the 2021 Chinon Les Picasses Red delivers a perfectly ripe, fruit-forward Cabernet experience. It opens with vibrant notes of graphite, stone fruit, plum, and spices. The palate is fresh, savory, and well-balanced, showcasing pure, bright fruit without any oak influence. Ready to enjoy now and will age beautifully for 5 years or more. This is the Selection Committee’s favorite, rated 93/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, macerated for one month, aged for one year on fine lees in oak barrels (between three and seven years old) in old tuffeau stone quarries.

Bright red color with carmine highlights.

Nose:

pure nose with beautiful Cabernet maturity, hints of graphite, stone fruit and plum, spices, black pepper

Palate:

Palate: a beautiful 2021 in terms of freshness, sapidity, and balance, with no dominant woody notes.
