Wine:

Delicious, ready to drink today, the 2018 Red Chinon is a lovely discovery that offers everything you'd expect from a lovely Loire Valley Cabernet, especially on this great limestone terroir. The ripe nose, with its delicate woodiness, offers the perfect graphite expression of the Cabernet grape! The dense, smooth structure and delicate tannins create a well-balanced, easy-to-digest wine. Excellent value for money, to be enjoyed without restraint.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, 45-year-old vines, traditional vinification in stainless steel vats, aged in French oak barrels.

Color:

Bright, intense red with garnet highlights.

Nose:

Ripe, marked by a fine minerality and delicate oak ageing.

Palate:

A beautiful graphite expression from the Cabernet Franc, supported by a dense, almost supple structure, with many delicate tannins. A wonderful discovery!

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Mixed meat skewers, barbecued rib of beef, aged Saint-Nectaire fermier cheese, duck with candied peppers.
