Chapoutier - Saint-Joseph - Deschants - Rouge - 2021

Wine:

A blend of different parcels spread from the north to the south of the appellation, the 2021 Red Saint-Joseph Deschants expresses itself with delight between aromas of black fruit, licorice and spices, in a full and fresh palate, with granitic accents typical of the terroirs of the appellation, and a long finish. We appreciate this velvety and precise style, which is already extremely pleasant and can be aged for another 3 to 5 years. An exemplary Syrah, rated 93/100 by the Committee!

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vinification of 3 to 4 weeks in open concrete vats with one or two pumping over per day, aged for 12 to 18 months mainly in vats and partly in oak barrels.

Color:

Garnet red of beautiful intensity.

Nose:

Bouquet of violet underlined by liquorice and spicy notes.

Palate:

Ample and velvety, succumb to the freshness and precision of this wine with a long finish!

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Rack of lamb with fine herbs, stuffed quail, matured prime rib.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028.
