An icon of global winegrowing, La Coulée de Serrant is widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest White wines. Each new vintage is a highly anticipated event for connoisseurs. Fully biodynamic for over 45 years, the estate produces a wine of unmatched complexity and mystery—one that truly reveals itself only after years of cellaring.

Beyond its legendary flagship cuvée, the estate also crafts an outstanding White from Savennières: Les Vieux Clos, grown on a distinct terroir of schist and quartz. Sourced from 20-year-old vines selected through massal selection, this wine reflects the same biodynamic rigor and precision.

Produced in very limited quantities—at yields far below the appellation’s limits—and available only through allocation, Les Vieux Clos is a must-have for lovers of great Loire Valley whites. The release of each new vintage is a true event, but bottles are scarce and highly coveted.

Just released, the 2023 Savennières Les Vieux Clos White shows a luminous pale gold hue with striking intensity. The nose reveals earthy, root-driven aromas—hallmarks of the cru—lifted by delicate notes of white fruit. On the palate, the wine is energetic and finely structured, shaped by the cool vintage, which lends it a youthful austerity. A bottle to keep cellared a while longer, and ideally paired with fine fish or subtly spiced cuisine.
