In the heart of Chile’s Colchagua Valley, 170 km south of Santiago, Casa Lapostolle is one of the country’s finest estates and its most precious flagship. Born of both Chilean and French culture, this winery founded in 1994 reveals the very best of South American terroirs.

With the help of consultant Michel Rolland, Clos Apalta was created in 1997, an elite wine at the head of the range, produced under strict biodynamic principles. Today, it stands among the greatest wines of the world, alongside Vega Sicilia, Penfolds and Opus One.

This recognition is well deserved for a country blessed with ideal conditions: cooled by ocean air, protected by the mountains, the vines enjoy a perfectly tempered climate. All that was missing was the talent to reveal them — and now it is done.

Regularly cited among the best wines in the world, Clos Apalta is the only South American wine ever ranked No. 1 by Wine Spectator.

The 2022 Red Clos Apalta – Valle de Apalta shows a deep red color with purple highlights. The nose is intense and complex, combining vibrant spices with aromas of red and black fruits, lifted by hints of graphite and cedar. On the palate, balance and concentration take the lead, carried by silky tannins and a lively structure that highlight the wine’s fruit and spice richness all the way through to a long, elegant finish.

The 2022 Red Le Petit Clos – Valle de Apalta displays a deep red color with black cherry highlights. The nose impresses with its intensity, blending red fruit aromas, spice, and oak that shows through in gentle nuances. On the palate, ripe red fruits unfold over a complex structure, supported by lively tannins, leading to a long, persistent finish.

The 2023 Red Prélude – Valle de Apalta is a recent addition to the estate. Crafted with the same meticulous expertise as Clos Apalta and Petit Clos, this third wine in the collection charms with its generous, approachable style. From its very first years, it is ready to enjoy, offering a spontaneous invitation to convivial moments. A wine made for sharing, Prélude captures the festive energy of Chile while carrying the elegant signature of the Apalta terroir.
