Wine:

The 2024 white Vin de Savoie La Cuvée des Gueux is a pure Jacquère, sourced from old vines rooted in limestone scree soils. The nose is strikingly precise, opening with aromas of white fruits and juicy pear, accented by subtle almond notes. There’s no hint of technical winemaking here—just a clean, refined style. On the palate, it’s both vibrant and delicate, with that same juicy pear character carrying through. It finishes with impressive length, marked by minerality, freshness, and a lovely touch of mineral bitterness. A favorite of the Selection Committee, rated 92/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Direct and slow pressing of whole grapes, gravity transfer to vats. Static settling. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Aged in vats.

Wine certified organic and biodynamic by Ecocert and Demeter.

Color:

Bright golden yellow.

Nose:

Very precise, refined and accurate, with notes of white fruit, Passe-Crassane pear, Granny Smith apple mixed with hints of almond.

Palate:

Chiseled, punchy, with beautiful mineral bitterness, this wine delights us with its texture and pear and apple notes, pear skin and delicate astringency.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Goat cheese and spinach puff pastries, seafood sauerkraut, veal escalope with gorgonzola.

Cellar aging:

Starting today and continuing until 2031.

A true jewel of the Savoie vineyards and a 3-star producer in the French wine guide RVF, Le Cellier des Cray has become a benchmark estate—elevated to the top of the region by Adrien Berlioz.

Clinging to the steep slopes of Arbin and Chignin, at the foot of the Bauges massif, he crafts dazzling wines using biodynamic methods, far removed from conventional standards.

Together with his cousin Gilles Berlioz (of Domaine Partagé), with whom he co-produces the wine Les Gueux, he is helping to shape a new elite in Savoie winemaking—placing their wines firmly at the top of the region’s hierarchy!
